T R A C E is designed to enable quick and easy aircraft mock-up. It can provide basic aircraft data and estimates based on user input data such as aircraft dimensions and flight CONOPS.
T R A C E can optionally interact with a provided X-Foil EXE to generate estimated polar plots for your selected airfoil, wing profile, and flight characteristics. This data can subsequently be used to estimate lift, induced drag and other important data points.
As T R A C E is developed, alternate methods of calculating data points (i.e. CG, NP, M.A.C, etc) will be implemented and become user selectable, allowing you to choose the most appropriate methods for your design.
T R A C E can generate a comprehensive PDF report of your aircraft design, covering the data inputs & generated outputs as well as descriptions of the methodologies carried out, step-by-step workings, and of course, references.
T R A C E is currently still under development. We will soon be looking for testers for an alpha release to identify points of improvement and develop a feature roadmap.
